Liberal Arts Summer 2010 Programs
Spend summer 2010 with Liberal Arts! Whether it’s your first time at the university or not, you have a unique opportunity this summer. Both programs—SummerStart and SummerStay--consist of two courses linked together by a special seminar tailored to enhance your educational experience. Whether acclimating to your new academic home, working with the pre-law advisor, or pursuing issues of interest, you will have opportunities open only to program participants.
The college invites incoming freshmen and transfer students to get a head start on their UT Austin experience by joining us for SummerStart. Select from a range of core courses and participate in a one-hour seminar designed to prepare you for life here. Familiarize yourself with the campus, learn about Austin, and fine-tune your study skills before the full fall semester. Last year’s students had higher GPAs than the college average! Whether it will be your first time to stay at UT Austin for the summer, your last semester here, or somewhere in between, take advantage of rich educational experiences offered only in the summer. We’re bringing back last year’s popular Pre-Law Boot Camp as well as new programs focused on areas of high interest, such as global studies and social justice. Seminars and special events for each cluster feature distinguished faculty as well as outside speakers, such as a U.S. ambassador, a Peace Corps representative, or a magazine editor.
