The College of Liberal Arts actively encourages the procurement of external governmental and non-governmental grants and fellowships. Our team of experienced grant administrators is here to provide personalized support services to faculty and graduate students interested in seeking external resources for research and instruction.
Pre-Award
We encourage you to meet with team members to discuss your project as soon as possible, ideally no less than 2 weeks before a targeted proposal deadline. Both walk-ins and scheduled appointments are welcome.

Services include:
- Assistance with grant proposal preparation, including reviewing and critiquing proposals, working with principal investigators in developing budgets, and helping with budget narratives.
- Assistance with the electronic submission of grants and compliance with basic university policies regarding external funding.
- Assistance in identifying matching funding agencies by conducting library and Internet searches based on the research interests of graduate students and faculty.
- Serving as a liaison between grant seekers and the Office of Sponsored Projects during the pre-award and interim reporting processes.
- Offering professional development workshops and one-on-one training for faculty and graduate students related to grant procurement.
- Distributing information to about upcoming external opportunities, and any internal requirements pertaining to grants.
Post-Award
The College offers support for establishing budget groups, subcontracts, hotel agreements, business contracts, final reports, faculty requests for leave, and other management issues once you have received an award. We encourage you to contact the post-award office for assistance early in your grant period.
