Spanish Screening Procedure (SSP)

The Spanish Screening Procedure (SSP) is a screening test for oral proficiency in Spanish. LOTE students seeking certification in Spanish are required to take the SSP each semester of the UTeach-LA program. If
you plan to take a UTeach-LA course (UTL 202, UTL 303L, EDC 370S or Student Teaching) in Spring 2009 and did not take the SSP in Fall 2008, you must take the SSP on the Jan 28th test date.

All secondary Spanish certification seekers in UTL 101, 202 and UTL 303/EDC 370 who have not yet made a score a score of 7 or 8 on the SSP, should come by SZB 216, or call 471-3223, to sign up for a time slot
on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 to take the SSP. The whole process takes about half an hour. Times available are 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, and 11:00 a.m., and 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, 3:00, and 3:30 p.m. If you

April 15, 2009.
