General Information |
Special services are available to accommodate needs for individuals with disabilities at all Commencement programs. Persons requiring these services are asked to contact the offices listed below prior to their arrival for Commencement activities.
For information on services for ceremonies at the Frank Erwin Center, please
call 471-7744. For information on services for ceremonies at the Bass Concert
Hall and Hogg Auditorium, please call the Performing Arts Center Patron Services
Office at 471-0610. For other venues, please consult the schedule and be in
touch with contact persons noted for each college or school.
Printed invitations and announcements for mailing to family and friends may be ordered from the University Co-op at each of its three locations: 2244 Guadalupe (512-476-7211, Ext. 8210); 2902 Medical Arts (512-472-6156); and 2237 East Riverside (512-447-4376) or via the web at www.coop-bookstore.com.
Academic regalia for degree candidates is traditional for college and school ceremonies. Academic regalia is available for purchase from the University Co-op at each of its three locations: 2244 Guadalupe (512-476-7211, Ext. 8210); 2902 Medical Arts (512-472-6156); and 2237 East Riverside (512-447-4376) or via the web at www.coop-bookstore.com.
Undergraduates should purchase regalia by November 26 to be assured of a stole
in the color of their college or school. The deadline for renting Ph.D regalia
is November 16. After this deadline, a $25.00 rush fee will be applied to all
rental orders and hood colors cannot be guaranteed. The last day to order custom
regalia and receive it in time for the ceremony on December 8 is October 31.
Parking for all Commencement activities is free in designated areas throughout the weekend on a first-come, first-serve basis. On Friday, University parking garages at Manor Road and Dedman Drive, at MLK and Speedway, and at 27th Street and Speedway will be available for paid parking in addition to campus lots marked "C Parking." On Saturday, University parking garages are available at 24th and San Jacinto, 25th and San Antonio, 27th and University, MLK and Speedway, Manor Road and Dedman Drive, 27th Street and Speedway, and most surface lots. T-shirts, a video of the University-wide Commencement ceremony, Tower fireworks photo from the May 2001 ceremony, as well as other commemorative items are available for purchase via the Internet.
