The University of Texas at Austin celebrates the academic attainment of our graduates with convocation activities in a fun-filled and memorable weekend. Students receiving degrees at the completion of the fall semester are eligible to participate in college and school ceremonies described below.
College and School Convocations
Convocation ceremonies, hosted by the colleges and schools, allow components of the university to celebrate the achievements of their graduates with individualized honors and traditions. The convocations provide photo opportunities for candidates’ families to capture moments such as the hooding of doctor's and master's degree students or a dean shaking students’ hands as their names are called and they walk across the stage.
Candidates are advised to contact their representative to verify the ceremonies for which they are eligible. The attached schedule notes times and locations and other pertinent information for college and school convocations.
