Public seating for the University-Wide Commencement Ceremony will be available on a first come, first served basis. Standing will not be allowed in outdoor areas configured for seating. Guest seating will be provided in adjacent indoor locations beginning at 6 p.m. These sites will feature a live video telecast in an air-conditioned setting. Commencement officials will be available to direct guests to indoor viewing areas.
Indoor Viewing Sites
Families and friends of graduating students may prefer
to view Commencement preparations and the University-wide ceremony on
Saturday, May 17 in the comfort of an indoor, air-conditioned space.
The following rooms offer remote indoor viewing of the ceremony. Rooms
open and telecasts begin at 6 p.m and continue until the ceremony ends
(about 10 p.m.).
Parking for Commencement activities is free in designated areas on a first-come, first-served basis. On Friday, all University parking garages will be available in addition to campus lots marked “C” Parking. On Saturday, with the exception of spaces marked “At All Times,” all University parking garages as well as most surface lots are available.
Parking Garages are located as follows: PG1, San Jacinto Boulevard and 24th Street; PG3, MLK Boulevard and Brazos Street; PG4, University Avenue and 27th Street; PG5, Robert Dedman Drive and Clyde Littlefield Drive; PG6, Speedway and 27th Streets; and PG7, Trinity Street and MLK Boulevard. While every effort will be made, the University may be unable to fulfill last-minute requests.
