Message from the President
I invite you to join us for the Fall 2004 Commencement exercises at The University of Texas at Austin. Commencement is a joyous moment in the life of the University. The event is not only an academic ritual, but also a festive celebration marking an important rite of passage. It is a time for all of us in the UT family to acknowledge the accomplishments of our new graduates.
The University of Texas at Austin is a radiant beacon of progress and opportunity that has illuminated every corner of this state and far beyond for the past 120 years. We accomplish our mission mainly through our graduates, the young men and women whose lives we transform while they are entrusted to us. When they come here from Houston or Hong Kong, from Toledo or Tomball, their minds are challenged; their hearts are opened; their future is shaped. They take the skills they have developed here and go out and leave their footprints on the history of our time. Commencement honors them as their journey begins.
I hope you will join us on campus for the 2004 Fall Commencement as the University family gathers for this special occasion to salute the achievements of our graduating students.Larry R. Faulkner, President
