Tickets for ProgramsTickets are required for some programs for degree candidates and their guests. College, School, and Department ConvocationsThe Graduate Studies (Master's Degree Candidates) ceremony, the Department of History, and Plan II require tickets for guests to ensure their safety due to limited seating. Degree candidates for these ceremonies will receive information in official communications from their respective college/school/department. Questions should be directed to departmental representatives. University-Wide Ceremony All degree candidates participating in the evening Commencement on May 21, are required to present a ticket when
lining up for the Grand Procession. Tickets will be available beginning Monday, May 9, at the Frank Erwin Center and the Performing Arts Center
box offices. Tickets are for degree candidates only and are free of charge. No tickets are required for guests. Tickets are not available by phone.
They must be picked up in person by presenting a UT ID. Seating for guests is on a first come, first served basis.
Assembly Area For Grand Procession On Saturday Evening, May 21All graduates should line up south of Littlefield Fountain between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Staff and posted signs will direct degree candidates to their college or school locations in this general area. The Grand Procession begins at 8 p.m., proceeding up the South Mall to the Main Mall where degree candidates will be seated.
Academic Dress, Invitations, and AnnouncementsAcademic regalia for degree candidates is traditional for college, school, department ceremonies and the university-wide Commencement. Academic regalia, printed invitations, and announcements for mailing to family and friends are available for purchase from the University Co-op at the following locations: Graduation Store in the Co-op Outlet at 2304 Guadalupe (512) 476-7211, Ext. 8210; 2902 Medical Arts (512) 472-6156; and 2237 East Riverside (512) 447-4376 or at http://www.universitycoop.com To ensure delivery of your invitations and announcements by Commencement, they will need to be purchased by May 2 and mailed by May 6. Services for Degree Candidates with DisabilitiesSpecial services are available to accommodate needs of degree candidates with disabilities who will be participating in Commencement activities. Degree candidates who require accommodations due to a disability are asked to contact their college or school representative so the proper arrangements can be made prior to arrival at Commencement programs. Services for students with disabilities are available through the Dean of Student's office. Please call Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at (512) 471-6259 or by TDD at (512) 471-4641 prior to 5:00 p.m. On Saturday, May 21, information is available by calling the University Police Department at (512) 471-4441 or by TDD (512) 471-4777. While every effort will be made, the University may be unable to fulfill last-minute requests. University HousingDegree candidates living in University residence halls may apply to stay on campus in a central location through Saturday, May 21. Instructions will be mailed to graduating seniors in mid April.
