Invitations and announcements
Printed invitations and announcements for mailing to family and friends may be ordered from the University Co-op, Josten's, and Balfour's in Bevo's Bookstore at Dobie Mall. The degree candidate may order a personal name card to include in the mailing; please allow extra time for printing.
Academic regalia for degree candidates
is traditional for the evening Commencement on May 17 and for school and college ceremonies on May 17 and 18. Each graduating student should check with the particular college or school for instructions. Law students may wear the traditional Sunflower Ceremony attire to the evening Commencement ceremony. Academic dress may be ordered from University-area businesses noted above.
Degree candidates living in University housing may request to stay through the night of Saturday, May 17. Residence halls will close on Sunday, May 18, at 9 a.m.

Services for students and visitors
People with disabilities are asked to contact Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) in the Office of the Dean of Students
(telephone 512-471-6259, TDD 512-471-4641) before their arrival for Commencement weekend activities. Members of that office will be pleased to provide accessibility maps, information on seating at the University-wide 114th Spring Commencement, and other services. Request for photographs
For possible Commencement publication or projection, please submit a nonreturnable photograph of your degree candidate as a baby or young child to: Graduate '97 Photos,
P.O. Box S, The University of Texas at Austin, Austin TX 78713-8919. Please identify the
student by name and college or school on the back. Submission constitutes permission for UT to use the photo in Commencement activities; photos will not be returned.
For more information on Commencement 1997 activities, please telephone the University's Visitor Center at 512-471-6498. A complete program with maps, schedules, and details about parking, transportation, information booths, and food and beverage services will be mailed in April.
