In May, beneath the Texas sky, we will celebrate the graduation of The University of Texas Class of 1998-students who through their experience are forever linked to Texas. We invite you to join us May 22 to 24 for the many events comprising UT's 115th Spring Commencement weekend.
Our graduation ceremonies will honor our students' academic achievements and will celebrate the intellectually stimulating community of The University. For more than two centuries, diverse people from wide-ranging countries, cultures, and walks of life have built this dynamic State through their industry and creativity. Today's modern Texas-and particularly The University-reflect the historic convergence of peoples who have enriched the Lone Star State. Today UT is home to more than 48,000 students, representing all 254 counties in Texas, all 50 states in the United States, and some 115 foreign countries. Our students come from far-flung places and they will go forth from The University to live and work in Texas, the nation, and around the world: from Austin to Abu Dhabi to Amsterdam, from Conroe to Cairo, from Zapata to Zacatecas to Zhengzhou. Together they have forged UT's reputation as a flagship public university, internationally known for the quality of its education, research, and public service.
Commencement is a defining event in The University's year-our tribute to UT's accomplished degree candidates and to the families and friends who have supported them along the way. Please help us celebrate our students' achievements, their bright futures, and the rich cultural heritage of Texas.
