Hardware Provided Internet-ready microcomputers and printers available to Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Students.

Access

The Chemical Engineering Computer Lab (CHE) is located in CPE 2.702 and 2.714, 471-3045 and is open to Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Students. To log in you will need an ITS account (individually funded or departmental) valid for PRS (Print Relay Services) and for the CHE Computer Lab.

To claim an IF Account a new user can go to http://www.utexas.edu/computer/accounts.


Consulting CHE Proctors offer the first level of help to lab users. Questions beyond the scope of their role are referred to higher levels of support, including the consulting desks described on the CHE Web Page.

Lab Use
Rules
  • Absolutely no food, beverages, or tobacco products are allowed within the facility.
  • Sleeping in the CHE Lab is prohibited.
  • Work quietly. Don't disturb other users.
  • You can be logged in on only one workstation at a time.
  • You must use your own user number.
  • Any attempt to bypass security can result in loss of privileges.
  • Illegal copying of proprietary software will not be tolerated.
  • You must log out of a workstation before leaving the facility.
  • Do not leave your workstation unattended.
  • If you intend to use a CD, you must use headphones (with 1/8" jack). The CHE Lab does not provide CDs or headphones.
  • If you are playing games, you may be asked to log out, if other users need to use the lab.
  • Do not remove lab materials, such as manuals, from the facility.
