Discount training rates at UT Austin now effective for all government agencies and nonprofit organizations

spiral notebook with a dollar sign in the middleAUSTIN, Texas Ð The Professional Development Center (PDC) at The University of Texas at Austin has established new rates and discounts for all government agencies and nonprofit organizations that contract with PDC for staff training. The reduced pricing structure was implemented on June 10 and applies to all customized, on-site training courses offered by PDC. It is intended to help government agencies alleviate the financial pressure caused by recent budget cuts and the general economic downturn.

"We are responding to the budget challenges facing all government agencies by offering a significant reduction in our rates for staff training," explained PDC Director Bob Novello. "We have customers at every level of government Ð county, city, state, and federal Ð who recognize the value of staff training. WeÕre doing what we can to help them continue realizing the benefits of this important organizational tool."

The new pricing structure entitles all government agencies and nonprofit organizations to an immediate 9.25 percent discount off PDC's standard in-house training rate. Once an agency or nonprofit has completed 15 full days of training, it is credited an additional five percent off the price of all of its training. At 31 days of training, the discount is increased to 10 percent. These credits can then be applied to future onsite training.

"Once an organization qualifies for the discount, it will be retroactively applied to all the training done during that year," said Novello, "as well as apply to all future training scheduled within the one-year period."

The Professional Development Center offers more than 70 noncredit certificate programs, executive seminars, and professional career and leadership skills workshops. PDCÕs most requested training courses align with current trends in business and industry, Novello reported. Top-ranking PDC courses include Project Management, Business Writing, Process Management, Leadership, Coaching, and the Challenges of a Multigenerational Workforce.
