BIO365R Vertebrate Physiology

Study Groups for BIO365R

First group has been formed already!

One thing to consider is that there are only a certain number of evenings in the week and that I have lawn bowling and Bridge Club to go to. Those that make arrangements first are sure to get their pick of times. Organising study groups can be tough sometimes. It is like herding cats. Just need an hour or two to cover most questions that folks have.

How to get involved in study groups.

One of the more critical skills required at Univiersity is independent study. However, the second most critical skill is learning to play well with others. Getting together with other students to study is an opportunity to compare notes, ask questions that are too embarassing to ask in class (you will be surprised by how many other students have the same questions), share resources such as books, handouts, and stuff found on the web.

The organised study groups have been one of the most popular aspects of these courses in the past. To encourage the formation of study groups, if four or more students manage to form a study group and find a time and place to meet, then Moon will try to come and join the group. This has been something like a tutoring session and a fast way to get through tough material. You can use Blackboard to propose a study group and then once you find a place- the 5th floor of PCL, the front lobby of UGL (FAC), the north dining area of the Union, the Spiderhouse cafe is a favourite, then contact Moon with the email addresses of those involved, and tell him when and where to meet.
