EPA-sponsored demonstration of joint wastewater management. Prof. Stolp will be there. |

| Friday, Nov. 13, Sunil Tankha and prof. Schmandt to give presentation on dams and
relocation in Brazil, from 3-4:30, ILAS |

travel
Debra Moore came and spoke to the class about travel procedures. A handout was given
out with all the information. Following is a brief summary:
| need proof of medical insurance to travel, or purchase university insurance |
| need to present dates, destination, purpose in writing ~ 4 days in advance of departure |
| forms to fill out include liability form and medical treatment form |
| RTA (request for travel authorization) takes ~24hrs to get |
| can order airline tickets over the phone, takes 24-48hrs to get tickets in hand |
| save ticket stub and give to Debra upon return; airlines centrally billed |
| students must book and pay hotel fees, and be reimbursed later |
| need tax-exemption form for state of Texas, else will not be reimbursed hotel taxes |
| preferred that receipts be kept individually, else reimbursement will be split down
middle |
| students must pay for and be reimbursed for car rental; must be at least 25yrs old |
| can record mileage, or save gas/rental receipts |
| food reimburseable for up to $35/day, NO per diem, no alcohol or tips reimbursed |
| to be safe, save all taxi receipts |
| after trip, tape receipts individually on plain piece of paper, write date, item and
amount |
| give these sheets to Debra; sign voucher; takes ~2weeks to receive reimbursement check |
| Debra will look into university policy for travel/reimbursement in another country |
