Early Corinthian Aryballos

Note: As Corinthian pottery became more and more popular, mass production brought a decreased standard in drawing. This marked the Corinthian period into the sixth century. The vessel above served as a perfume/oil flask and stands only a few inches tall. Corinth controlled a monopoly over the Mediterranean perfume trade, including the manufacture of miniature containers to hold these perfumes.
