Early Protocorinthian Skyphos

Note: The pottery of Korinth was the first to introduce the changes that brought an end to the Geometric period around 700BC. Such innovation made Corinthian pottery the most numerous and widely-distributed of its time. This drinking-cup highlights the main features of so-called Protocorinthian - adopting two large Orientalizing animal figures, placed in a singular frieze decorated with simple rosettes, circles, and rays.
