Divorce Demographic Update


For demographic update information, look in the Divorced Data Packet at the "Marital History" and "Demographics" sections. Husbands and wives filled out a demographic form about the following topics:

1. Separation and remarriage history (Marital History form, pp 3- 5)

2. Age and gender of children; household composition (Demographics, pp 6 -7)

3. Current occupations; work stability; number of hours working for pay; how much money earned (Demographics, pp 8 - 12)

4. Alimony / child support (Demographics, p 12)

5. Education / Religion update (Demographics, 13 -14)

6. Respondents' parents - update of death and divorce (Demographics, pp 15 - 17)

7. Sibling marital history (Demographics, 17 -19)


Interpreting

Choose salient pieces of information from this section to weave into your interpretation of the couple's dissolution. Think about issues such as work stability, a continued education, or a history of family divorce. How might such factors enter into your couple's decision to divorce?
