Installing fonts on the PC.
Since you are reading this text document, it is assumed that you have already unzipped the program. Now
follow these directions carefully.
- Go to the 'System' folder, located in the 'Windows' folder in the C: drive. (i.e. c:\windows\system). Delete any previous
files of "terlingu.ttf" that may already be present.
- Once you have done this, go to the 'Fonts' folder, also located in
the 'Windows' folder (i.e. c:\windows\fonts). (Alternatively, click on the 'Start'button -- usually on the left, bottom corner of the
screen. Select the Settings... Control Panel menu items. One of the items
in the window that will open is the Fonts folder.) Delete any existing Terlingu file in this folder as well.
(If you cannot find the terlingu file in either the 'System' or 'Fonts' folder, don't worry)
- Once you have taken care of this, open the folder containing the program Plato. TCopy the Terlingu.ttf file and also paste it in the 'System' folder.
- Now the last step is to go the 'Fonts' folder (the one we went to in the second step). Click on the 'File' menu and select the
'Install New Font..." option. Under the 'browse' section, click on the 'System' folder, located in the 'Windows' folder in the c: drive, and
select the "Terlingua [True Type Font]" in the 'List of Fonts' box. Hit 'OK' and you are ready to use Plato.
You may have to restart Plato or your Web Browser
for the changes to take effect.
