Directions for Downloading SPSS Script and Syntax Files
All download files are stored as compressed, self-extracting files with the
file
extension of ".EXE", e.g. "EvaluatingAssumptions_MissingData_Outliers_2004.exe".
- Click on the link to a file to download it to your computer. You will be asked to
specify a destination directory. On the classroom computers, this
directory is C:\StudentData\SW388R7_Spring_2004. This is the default that
I have included when creating the self-extracting files. I suggest you use the
same name on your computer.
- When the file has finished downloading, navigate to C:\StudentData\SW388R7_Spring_2004 on your computer
(or whatever folder name you specified).
- Double click on the downloaded file. A window titled WinZip
Self-Extractor will open.
- In the WinZip Self-Extractor window, click on the Unzip
button. A dialog box will notify you when the file in unzipped.
- When the file is unzipped, close the WinZip Self-Extractor window.
- Delete the self-extracting file with the ".EXE" extension from your
C:\StudentData\SW388R7_Spring_2004 folder. You computer operating system
may tell you that this is a program file and require you to verify that you do
want to delete it.
The unzipped Scripts have the extension ".SBS" and the unzipped Syntax files
have the extension ".SPS".
