GRADING POLICIES
Grades will be determined by the three equally weighted tests totaling 275 points. If you take the Optional Comprehensive Exam (November 4) and your grade is higher than the grade you made on exam one or exam two, you may substitute your comprehensive exam grade for your original grade on exam one or exam two. You cannot take the comprehensive exam unless you have taken both exam one and two. Semester grades will be determined by summing the points from each individual test. The grades posted after each exam will be the number of questions you got correct, not the percentage correct. If you get 247 points or better, you'll get an A; 220-246, a B; l92-2l9 a C; 165-191 , a D; 164 and below, an F. CR students must make a D to pass, but they must take all the exams. The only likelihood of a curve is in the A category. Sometimes I will bring down the A's to 246 or 245 or... You may review each exam with the TA (first) and the instructor (second) within three weeks following each exam.
