The learning self-analysis  (Due 2/27)

Purpose:  To apply what we have been learning about cognition and self-regulation to your own study behavior to make clearer connections.

Length:  maximum of 5 pages

Parts:

            a.  A narrative about your results on the MSLQ in comparison to the national norms and what that might mean in terms of real behavior patterns you use in studying.  (2 pages)

            b.  An analysis of the studying you did for the first exam in this class.  What strategies did you use that seemed to work well?  Can you figure out from what you know about self-regulation (cognition/metacognition, motivation/emotion, and resource management) why some things worked well and others didn’t?  (1 page)

            c.  Compare your study strategies for the exam in this class with those you’ve used in another class.  How are they similar?  How and why are they different?  (1 page)

            d.  What could you do for future exams that would help you be more efficient and/or more effective?  (1 page)

Suggestions:

Write clearly and use the vocabulary carefully and correctly.  Write in your own voice (don’t try to sound too much like a textbook) and talk about what you’ve experienced and what your reactions to those experiences are.
