Defining Reading Outcomes
-what skills and knowledge do your students have in general
-what L2 skills and knowledge (e.g. what tenses, vocabulary fields, etc.)
-what level of cognitive maturity (e.g. what kinds of analytic or synthetic reasoning are they capable of? What kinds of memory and monitoring tasks? What social skills or deficits?)
-explain students' strengths and weaknesses, by specifying why a particular Standard is appropriate to address at this point in the curriculum
-explain why these are most appropriate goals for these students
-explain why these are the the most appropriate goals for this text
-explain how these goals will interlock with earlier and later phases in your curriculum (in the setting that you have chosen -- earlier or later in one level, in later or earlier levels, in parallel courses)
