Internet News Assignment This assignment is due Tuesday November 4th The Internet offers access to most of the major news services, and gives you the ability to track down more extensive information than you can with traditional sources like newspapers and television news. But you have to learn how to take advantage of these sources. For this assignment I want you to find two news stories dealing with some aspect of anthropology. For each of these stories I would like two things: a few paragraphs describing the issue covered in the news stories, and printouts of two news sources or sources of information you used. The stories should date to after September 1st of this year.
There are many sources of information you can use for this project. We have discussed some of them in class, and most of thes are on our class web pages. The Library's web pages also have a lot of links to on-line news sources. The best hint I can give you is check out David Carlson's Anthropology in the News from the Department of Anthropology at Texas A&M, and look for News on Archnet.
