Graduate Field Course in Rainforest Research
(BIO384K)
Goals of the Course
There are three major goals
of the course. To provide each student with
- a solid understanding
of the habitats, processes, and conditions encompassed by the term "rainforest."
Intuition for the most elaborate and diverse biological communities on the
planet is an important comparative tool for any field biologist.
- the opportunity to discover
patterns or questions of relevance to his or her research interests.
- the practical knowledge
and preliminary data necessary to write independent grant proposals and organize
the logistics of tropical field work.
