Study Abroad
The Classics Department can help its
majors to take advantage of many opportunities to study
abroad. Students can gain hands-on archaeological experience
available at digs sponsored by the
Institute
of Classical Archaeology. We
can also coordinate with summer and semester or year-long
programs run by UT and other institutions, such as the
American
School for Classical Studies in
Athens summer session, the
American
Academy in Rome summer program,
the Intercollegiate
Center for Classical Studies in Rome
fall and spring semester programs, and College
Year in Athens. (CYA)

What is a non-UT program?
- If by chance a student's needs, will be better served
through a non-UT program, than Study Abroad Advisors are
available for basic guidance. Non-UT programs are
programs not affiliated with UT-Austin.
- Students should note that UT does not allow transfer
credit from all non-UT programs. Students should complete
a Non-UT Pre-departure Form prior to departure to
determine credit transferability. This form can be
obtained from the Study Abroad Office. Additionally,
students who participate in a non-UT program will be
taking a leave of absence if abroad for fall or spring
and must complete an Application
for Readmission. This form can be obtained from the
Study Abroad Office or via the web.
