Partnerships
The Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS) has established a number of partnerships with various organizations that examine many parts of the Mexican American and Latino experience in Austin, the state of Texas, and the United States.
Austin Latino Music Association — A local non-profit corporation in Austin, Texas that provides community-wide information about Latino music.
La Peña — A local non-profit organization in Austin, Texas dedicated to the preservation, development and promotion of Latino artistic expression in all its forms.
Latino USA — The English-language radio journal of Latino news and culture produced under the auspices of KUT radio and CMAS.
Mexican American Cultural Center — Sponsored by the City of Austin, the MACC is dedicated to the preservation, creation, presentation, and promotion of Mexican American, Chicano, Native American, and other Latino cultures.
Mexican American Library Program — A collection of materials at UT Austin documenting the history, politics, and culture of the Mexican American and Latino experience in Texas, the Southwest, and the United States.
Public Policy Institute — A research unit of the Department of Government at UT Austin, which focuses on public policy issues salient to the state of Texas.
Resistencia Bookstore — A local neighborhood bookstore in Austin, Texas that specializes in various literary genres, provides community meeting space, and is the home to Red Salmon Arts and Red Salmon Press.
The Serie Project — A local non-profit organization in Austin, Texas that produces, promotes, and exhibits serigraph prints created by established and emerging artists.
Texas Center for Educational Policy — A research unit in the College of Education at UT Austin that brings researchers together whose work has a direct bearing on current policy issues in education.
U.S. Latino and Latina World War II Oral History Project — A collection of over 500 stories and documents from men and women who served in the U.S. armed forces during World War II.
