- The Biosphere, originally the American Pavilion in the 1967 World Expo is located on Ile d'Orleans, in the middle of the Saint Lawrence River

- In 1995 the glass panes were removed and a museum dedicated to the Great Lakes and Saint Lawrence River was built inside
