Section 3.5: Information for the Web developer

What to give your Web developer

Use this spreadsheet to think about and discuss information associated with the videos and/or audio that you want to use. Based on your knowledge of the content and the purpose of the media, you can offer information about transcripts or appropriate information for audio description.

Questions to ask in development:

  1. Will the player controls be keyboard accessible?
  2. Will the animated images or Flash movements be accessible to a screen reader?
  3. Is there a link to download all of the plugins needed?
  4. Is the media player embedded in the web page? At this point embedded players tend to be more difficult for screen reader users.

This completes Section 3.5.
