Parking Information

The outdoor unveiling and dedication ceremony will be held at the Battle Oaks located at 24^th and Whitis Streets on The University of Texas at Austin campus. To view a campus and parking map, click here.

Outdoor seating for the ceremony will be located on 24^th and Whitis Streets. The Barbara Jordan statue site is located on the southwest corner of 24^th and Whitis Streets indicated by the orange star in the picture below:

Indoor seating for the ceremony will be available in the Texas Union Theater (UNB 2.228) located in the Union Building indicated by the orange star in the picture below. The Union Theatre accommodates 350 people and will show a live viewing of the unveiling ceremony:

Parking Information

The campus offers daily parking for visitors in one of nine parking garages. Anyone may park in the university garages on a paid basis, and no permit is required. Garage daily parking offers the closest, most convenient spaces to all areas of the University for visitors and students. Permits are required to park in all surface parking areas on campus. Cars parked on campus without a Valid UT Austin permit are subject to the issuance of a citation. To view a campus and parking map, click here.

Disability parking for those attending the unveiling ceremony will be reserved in campus lot F-27 at the northwest corner of Dean Keeton Street and Whitis Street. Individuals needing special accommodations should describe the accommodation when they RSVP via the Barbara Jordan Web site.  To view a campus and parking map, click here.

We recommend that visitors for the Barbara Jordan Statue Unveiling Ceremony park in the San Antonio (SAG), Speedway (SWG) and 27^th Street (TSG) parking garages. For more information, see the daily parking rate.
