Welcome to Campus Diversity and Strategic Initiatives (CDSI), a portfolio within the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. CDSI supports and enhances an equitable campus culture at The University of Texas at Austin by engaging in divisional strategic planning, campus diversity planning, campus climate incident response, diversity education, research and special projects.
Initiatives and Units
The Campus Climate Response Team serves as a university-wide strategic resource team that develops and facilitates the implementation of appropriate responses to campus climate incidents impacting the UT-Austin community.
The DDCE Research Planning Committee, led by CDSI, supports division-wide research efforts in the creation of knowledge and best practices for diversity and community engagement through innovative scholarship, teaching, policy development, programs and services.
Diversity Education Initiatives, a unit of CDSI, promotes learning that critically examines multiple identities and perspectives in order to foster a climate of inclusive excellence at The University of Texas at Austin and surrounding communities.
Diversity Planning will engage the UT-Austin campus community in a goal setting process to promote diversity and equity in colleges, schools and units throughout the University. CDSI is conducting a pilot study of diversity planning with the College of Fine Arts and its Diversity Committee.
Strategic Planning for the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement, led by CDSI, charts a five-year course for the division’s work with goals, objectives and implementation plans.
CDSI staff are involved in and lead Special Projects - like the Barbara Jordan Statue Project - designed to advance diversity on and off campus.
