The purpose of the CEI is to promote and sustain community engagement across the University of Texas by seeding new initiatives, promoting existing initiatives, and generally developing the connections, capabilities, and resources necessary for the University of Texas to be a meaningful partner with the rest of the community.

Through a host of different activities, the CEI connects faculty, staff, and students on campus with partners off campus to create projects and programs that will improve the quality of life for the entire community.
