Pflugerville Independent School District Diversity Conference

The Division of Diversity and Community Engagement was a founding partner of the PISD Diversity Conference in 2007. In 2008, the Diversity Education Institute became the official point of contact within DDCE for the collaborative conference and will continue the partnership for the 3rd annual diversity conference in summer of 2009. This year, the DEI will provide a separate workshop strand specifically tailored to administrators.

Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary
The Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary’s (APTS) students come from a wide range of denominations, age groups, geographical areas, educational backgrounds, cultural heritages, and theological perspectives, creating a rich and challenging educational environment. APTS classes blend practical discussions of pastoral work with deep theological insight. In spring 2009, the Diversity Education Institute consulted with APTS on a grant aimed to increased diversity education and inclusion.  The DEI will be assisting in diversity training in the fall of 2009, guiding the faculty in thinking about how to include diversity discussions in the classrooms.
