Student Community Service Training Modules

The Volunteer and Service Learning Center, in partnership with the Office of Institutional Compliance, has created online student community service training modules. The student community service modules are designed for students who are about to begin volunteer or service learning activities.

These trainings are designed to offer brief introductions to a variety of risk management concepts related to student volunteer service and service learning. The trainings are ideal for student organizations, individual student volunteers, and students who have service requirements as part of a course or program.

The purpose of the community service training modules is to better prepare students for risks that may be inherent in community service, and provide information on what to expect in a quality service experience.

The modules feature a short training slideshow, followed by a brief quiz that requires a score of 70% or better to receive credit for completion of the module. Each module is estimated to take 10 minutes to complete.

These modules may be accessed using a EID and password, and upon completion will remain listed as complete on the compliance training profile for the remainder of the academic year, as well as on the students TXClass record.

If you would like more information on any of the concepts covered, please feel free to contact the Volunteer and Service Learning Center at 471-6161.
