About Premier Student Organizations in Service

Premier Student Organizations in Service logo

Student Government and the Volunteer Service Learning Center have collaborated to create a monthly award program. The purpose of this award is to highlight the service work student organizations are doing by sharing their experience with the UT community.

"Students at The University of Texas are actively engaged in the community, working to improve the lives of those around them. The core purpose of this University is to transform the lives of its students for the benefit of society. In the process, UT creates and molds caring and compassionate individuals that go forth to make positive impacts in the areas they live.

Much of this service to others begins as a member of a student organization. This program recognizes the "Premier Student Organizations in Service" at the University. These student groups are making a difference in and around the Austin area and showing the true nature and color of being a Longhorn: helping those around you and leaving this world a better place".

-Keshav Rajagopalan, 08/09 President, Student Government
