The 11th annual Running of the Horns 5K Fun Run / Walk will take place on the UT campus at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 20th, 2008!

This annual tradition brings together the University of Texas and the Austin community on campus for a competitive run and a taste of our Longhorn spirit!

This year the race will begin at 8:00am at the Bus Circle at 23rd and San Jacinto, with the Texas Cowboys firing Smoky the canon! Runners of all ages and skill levels are welcome, and we will have official chip timing provided by RunFar. All event proceeds will benefit the Volunteer and Service Learning Center's student-run community service initiatives in the greater Austin community.

Attractions include:

  • Raffle prizes
  • Booths from UT organizations and local businesses
  • Chances to win tickets from UT Athletics
  • Official chip timing provided by RunFar
  • Unique view of the UT-Austin campus

The Running of the Horns 5K benefits UT's Volunteer & Service Learning Center, and is coordinated in partnership with the UT Division of Recreational Sports and the Asian Business Student's Association (ABSA).
