Disaster Relief Volunteer Opportunities

Please consider volunteering with area groups that are helping in relief efforts to coastal residents in the wake of Hurricane Ike:

- List of volunteer and donation needs, American Statesman
- Central Texas Red Cross
- FEMA
- Institute for Economic Development
- City of Austin - Emergency Volunteers

Help will be needed as refugees begin arriving in the Austin area.
Please check news sites to get up-to-date information.

Volunteering is about giving back to the community, understanding a bit more about your place in the community, sharing expertise to help with unique projects, gaining new experiences and acquiring new skills.

Volunteering is offering your time and mind to help others while learning a little bit about yourself.

Register yourself on our database  http://www.utvolunteer.org/  to find, or receive emails, on current information on volunteer opportunities related to your personal interests.

The mission of the Volunteer and Service Learning Center is to promote, organize, facilitate, support and reflect on community engagement for the UT-Austin community. For more information, visit our Web site.
