
Dear Student Organization Leaders:
The Office of the Vice President for Diversity and Community Engagement is pleased to support a wide variety of student-run events and endeavors in the university community, and we would like to invite you to apply to for co-sponsorship for the current school year.
Please note the following procedures that guide our co-sponsorship process:
- Applications are only accepted online
- Applications must meet the deadline established for each semester:
- Applications due October 2 for Fall events (September 1-December 31), and notification of awards will be given by October 16.
- Applications due February 19 for Spring/Summer events (January 1-August 31), and notification of awards will be given by December 18.
- After submitting your application, you will be assigned an interview time with the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement Co-Sponsorships Committee.
- Only registered student organizations in good standing with Student Activities and Leadership Development in the Office of the Dean of Students are eligible to receive funding.
If your organization is selected to receive funding, please note the following guidelines:
- Funds must be used by the end of the funding period (August 31 for spring/summer events).
- No reimbursements will be given to students. All purchases must be planned with the Special Assistant for University Relations, Stella Smith.
- The division will not fund any of the following items: alcohol, flowers, greeting cards, food, drinks, travel expenses, off-campus rentals and conference fees.
- If the division is paying for promotional items (flyers, t-shirts, posters, etc.), these items must be approved before the purchase is made.
- Funding for t-shirts may not exceed $200 and t-shirts may not be sold for any reason.
- The Division of Diversity and Community Engagement should be recognized for its contribution on all promotional items for the events. The division’s logo is available upon request for this purpose and more information on this will be shared when your organization is awarded funding.
