Meet Katherine Antwi Green, Director, EOS
Katherine Antwi Green began working as director of Equal Opportunity Services (EOS) on November 3. Before joining Associate Vice President Linda Millstone’s team, Green was an attorney in the Office of the General Counsel at the University of Texas System. Previously, she worked as general counsel for the Texas Commission on Human Rights and as an assistant attorney general in the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Texas.
Green is excited about the opportunity to serve as director of EOS. “While one of the core responsibilities of EOS is to ensure compliance with respect to laws, policies and practices within the employment context, I am looking forward to providing opportunities and avenues for proactive and equitable resolution of employment disputes,” she said. “I view my role with EOS as creating new possibilities for individuals within the campus community to have fresh dialogues with one another despite employment conflicts.” Green explained that in past positions she has held, she often faced cases where the parties involved were adversaries. “The relationships between the parties had already begun to collapse,” she explained. “Now, as part of my current responsibilities, I will be able to work towards the formulation of policies and practices that bring about the parties’ mutual desire to create a productive and rewarding work environment. In my view, that is an exciting and challenging opportunity.”
Green received her bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin in biology education and her juris doctor degree from Gonzaga University School of Law, Spokane, Wash. Katherine may be reached at 471-1849; email@example.com.
