UT EID Help

Can I Change My UT EID?

Your UT EID can be changed only for very limited reasons; for example, if you find your existing UT EID offensive or if your name has changed. You must provide adequate justification for changing your UT EID before any action can be taken. EID changes are taken very seriously and are performed only if appropriate justification is provided.

If you decide to change your UT EID, your new EID will be your initials followed by a randomly generated number.

Students should go to the Registrarís Office in Main (MAI) 1, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Bring your UT photo ID or government-issued photo identification (driverís license or passport). You will be asked to provide documentation for your change request.

Faculty and Staff should go to the Payroll Office in Main (MAI) 134, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Bring your UT photo ID or government-issued photo identification (driverís license or passport). You will be asked to provide documentation for your change request.
