Explore UT is a special occasion at The University of Texas at Austin, and we're proud to welcome everyone to this day of adventure on March 7, 2009.

One of my favorite moments at Explore UT is early in the morning when buses, filled with thousands of Texas school children, arrive for the program. The excitement is contagious. Students embark on their exploration of our campus with incredible energy and a healthy sense of curiosity.

We say that The University of Texas at Austin transforms lives-this is our core purpose. By sharing our treasures with visitors of all ages, we open our doors to a world of learning. So come and join our students, faculty, and staff on March 7th for Explore UT. We promise you a day filled with fun, discovery and friendship we hope will last a lifetime.

The University of Texas at Austin is hosting its 10th annual Explore UT, a day of events, performances, exhibits, lectures and hands-on activities for the entire family. We offer you a glimpse into world-class museums, extensive library collections, numerous performance venues and cultural centers on a historic urban campus.

With nearly 400 events and activities happening across campus, there is something for everyone. Children can test their skills while making liquid nitrogen ice cream, building forts, creating a virtual world avatar, designing miniature solar cars and engaging in dozens of other activities. High schoolers can meet with advisers, faculty and students to learn about everything from degree plans to financial aid. Parents and teachers can enjoy a variety of cultural events, exhibits, performances, museums and lectures.

As a public university, The University of Texas at Austin belongs to the people of Texas. As an institution of higher education, the university’s mission is to educate young people and to create future leaders for every realm of society.

Come explore our campus. Enjoy a day of fun. Learn something new.

As you Explore UT, you will learn quickly that The University of Texas at Austin is an exciting place.  Many of the smiling faces you will see on March 7th are those of my fellow students who are volunteering in the information booths, riding the shuttle, making presentations, helping in the labs and demonstrating the incredible enterprise of education.

Just like you, all of the students at UT made an exploration of UT at some point too. We are now part of this diverse and caring community that helps one another grow, and it is our turn to share our favorite corners of the university with you.

I hope those who attend Explore UT will discover what all of us on campus have come to cherish. This campus is a treasure chest that makes this university special--the incredible spirit of Texas, the spirit of limitless possibility.

Welcome to The University of Texas at Austin and Hook 'em Horns.
