As you will learn at Gone To Texas, the UT Tower helps to communicate powerful messages and to signify special moments in the life of the campus. When the Tower is lit orange, it is most likely to honor achievements of excellence: from faculty and student academic achievements to the recognition of staff excellence. From athletic victories and championships to Commencement. The night of Gone to Texas, it will celebrate and welcome the newest members of our community to campus.
Becoming a Longhorn means that the “Eyes of Texas” are now upon you. It is now your turn to seize the opportunity, to make a difference and turn the Tower orange in the future to celebrate your achievements.
To help envision this goal, we'll be displaying pictures of new students on the screens and the Tower during the program. So please send us your picture for consideration.
