HONORS STUDENT INFORMATION

Invitation Packets

Students who meet the criteria will be mailed an Invitation Packet containing:

  • an invitation to participate in a university ceremony at Bass Concert Hall;
  • an extra invitation to send to family;
  • an extra invitation to send to a faculty member;
  • a personalized certificate suitable for framing.

Student honorees who have not received their Invitation Packet by March 22 should contact Lisa Camero in the Office of Relationship Management and University Events.

Students will be notified separately about additional ceremonies hosted by their academic deans on April 3 to recognize students at a college or school level. Should you have questions, please contact your representative.

Honors Cords and Medallions

Honors Cords

Students attending their University ceremony will receive honors cords in recognition of their achievements. Cords will be worn at Honors Day as well as future academic ceremonies, including Commencement. Please note that Honors cords can only be guaranteed to students who attend their Bass Concert Hall ceremony on April 3.

Honors cords are generously provided to student scholars by the University Co-op as representations of its enduring commitment to academic excellence at The University of Texas at Austin.

Medallions

In addition, students designated as Distinguished Scholars who attend their University ceremony will receive medallions in recognition of their perfect grade point averages. Medallions will be presented individually by academic deans and can be worn at Honors Day as well as future academic ceremonies, including Commencement. Please note that medallions can only be guaranteed to students who attend their Bass Concert Hall ceremony on April 3.
