James E. Wheeler is a world-renowned film archivist, collector and historian. In 1986, Mr. Wheeler established Concept East II in Detroit as a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to preserving and promoting African American literary, performing, visual and media arts. He has curated exhibitions at the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Museum of Modern Arts (MoMA), New York, and the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago. Mr. Wheeler has lectured and presented film and video screenings at colleges, universities, libraries and museums throughout the United States and abroad. |
