Donations from members of the university community provide the inventory
for the Orange Santa Holiday Store.
All donated toys or gifts should be new, in the
original packing and unwrapped. Wrapping paper, gift bags, ribbons and gift cards are
needed to wrap and label gifts once shoppers have made their selections.
We ask that no food
items be contributed. A list of suggested age appropriate gift
items is available.

Opportunities for those wanting to sponsor a donation drive
One of the most popular Orange Santa activities has been "donation drives" sponsored by individuals, departments and organizations. A donation drive can be a contest among several organizations to see which can gather the largest number of toys, a silent auction to raise cash funds to purchase items for the Holiday Store, or an individual decorating a box, placing it in a departmental office and encouraging colleagues to fill it with toys and gift items. All provide needed resources for the Orange Santa program.
Please note that donation drives should be held in time to allow for delivery and distribution of the toys and gift items during the operation of the Orange Santa Store (December 5-7). Cash donations can be contributed throughout the year. Funds not used this year are used to purchase items at wholesale cost for the following year.
Donation drives can reflect the nature of the sponsoring entity whether it is an academic unit or a student organization. For suggestions on creative ways to collect items for the Orange Santa Holiday Store or to arrange delivery of those items, contact Melissa Huddleston.
