Dr. Kevin J. Folliard is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include the durability of concrete and the use of innovative materials in high-performance concrete. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin (in September, 1999), Dr. Folliard was an Assistant Professor at the University of Delaware (September 1997-August 1999). Dr. Folliard worked for W.R. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1995. His research was primarily on the durability of high-performance concrete, with special emphasis on frost resistance, alkali-silica reaction and sulfate attack. Dr. Folliard has participated in various research projects, including NCHRP, FHWA, NSF, and state DOT projects. He is a member of ACI Committee 229 (Controlled Low-Strength Material), ACI Committee 236 (Materials Science of Concrete), ACI Committee 544 (Fiber-Reinforced Concrete), and ACI Committee 201 (Durability of Concrete). He is also a member of Transportation Research Board Committee A2E01 (Concrete Durability).
