Lynn Monnat, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist in Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology. Dr. Monnat completed her undergraduate work at the University of Hawai’i, Manoa. She obtained her M.A. and Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her clinical psychology internship at the CAARE Center of the Department of Pediatrics at the UC Davis Children’s Hospital in Sacramento, California. She then completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Texas Child Study Center. Dr. Monnat specializes in providing evidence-based treatments for youth and their caregivers suffering trauma-symptoms related to child maltreatment including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Another area of her specialization is Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidenced-based treatment for children ages 2 to 7 and their parents who are struggling with disruptive behaviors. She also provides evidence-based therapies for youth and their families who are experiencing difficulties related to adjustment, learning disorders, depression, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, autism-spectrum disorders, disruptive behavior disorders, and psychosis. Dr. Monnat’s focus also includes early intervention for children and families at risk of developing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
