Busch-Armendariz teaches courses in social policy, research and domestic violence. She is Associate Dean for Research and Director of the Institute on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, a collaboration between the Schools of Social Work, Nursing and Law. Her research focuses on interpersonal violence, human trafficking, refugees, and international social work. She has over two decades of experience in working to end violence against women and their children, and has worked as a battered women's advocate, support group leader, program director, and registered lobbyist. She has served as an expert witness in nearly four dozen criminal, civil, and immigration cases involving domestic violence and sexual assault, and co-directs a national training on how to be an ethical and effective expert witness.
