How Does Process Improvement Benefit the University?

"Quality is everyone's responsibility." — W. Edwards Deming
Quality Process Improvement, also known as Total Quality Management (TQM), is a methodology first used within the manufacturing and service industries that functioned on the premise that the quality of products and services is the responsibility of everyone involved in a process.
Many universities are adopting this same philosophy and methodology as the current economic changes continue to affect budgets, resources, investments, student enrollments, and decisions. In addition, there is now a higher level of accountability, a closer look at how and where we are using our resources and why, along with an expectation to do more with less.
A QAPI approach is an important step in meeting these challenges. It will allow us to face issues successfully in an ever-changing environment.
