corrected DOCUMENTS OF THE GENERAL FACULTY Richard Lariviere, Dean of the College
of Liberal Arts, filed with the Secretary of the Faculty Council the
proposal below to create an honors program in Jewish studies in the
College of Liberal Arts chapter of The University of Texas at Austin
Undergraduate Catalog, 1998-2000. The proposal was approved by
the faculty of the College of Liberal Arts and by the dean on October
8, 1999. The proposal was received from the College of Liberal Arts
on October 12, 1999, and the edited proposal was received from the Office
of Official Publications on November 4, 1999. The Secretary has classified
this proposal as legislation of exclusive application and primary interest
to a single college or school.
If no objection is filed with the Office of the General Faculty within five working days of the date of circularization, the legislation will be held to have been approved by the Faculty Council. If objection is filed within the prescribed period, the legislation will be presented to the Faculty Council at its next meeting. The objection, with reasons, must be signed by a member of the Faculty Council. To be counted, a protest must be received in the Office of the General Faculty by November 22, 1999. <signed> John R. JEWISH STUDIES IN THE COLLEGE On page 243, in the College of Liberal
Arts chapter of The Undergraduate Catalog, 1998-2000, in the
HONORS section, under ACADEMIC POLICIES AND PROCEDURES,
add the following new honors program:
