IN MEMORIAM

ROBERT EMMET COFER

Robert Emmet Cofer, professor of law, died on February 15, 1944. He was 73.

Professor Cofer was born on September 20, 1870, in Nashville, Tennessee. He earned a law degree from the University of Virginia in 1892.

Professor Cofer practiced law in Gainesville. He also served as a state senator in the Texas Legislature from 1908 to 1911. He joined the faculty of The University of Texas at Austin in 1911. He resigned his position in1921, when he returned to private practice with Cofer and Cofer.

Professor Cofer was a member of the American Bar Association and the Texas Bar Association.
